spoton

making ads that are enduring

PAST 2

. . . cont'd

With so many to choose from, the archive section is quite a random and varied mix of ads. Some are chosen with love, some with pride, some with a smile and some for a laugh - all of which I've had in abundance over the past 3 decades. The archive sections will be upgraded every two months to feature as many as possible.

Down the list alphabetically but an old favourite is the Spar spot - Fred There's No Bread. My first 35mm, live action with dialogue ad shot in 1987. A winner of a recent BBC public poll of Northern Ireland's favourite commercials, it features our own Olivia Nash who won a Best Performance from an Artist award at the ICADs for it. It also picked up Best Commercial and Best Editing awards at the same ceremony.

Check out a cameo role by director Phil Crothers behind the drums at the end of the Nambarrie spot and a young Terry Bradley in the Nicholl oil spot before he became the famous artist to the stars that he is now.
